This class will cover essential fire mitigation techniques that you can do to defend your property from a wildfire. The class is taught by one of our certified wildland firefighters and seasoned fire mitigation specialist. Doing a little mitigation to your home will actually make a big difference when your property is faced with fire. Come learn simple techniques that you can do to protect yourself and help our our community! 

• Ready: Preparing your home and property for wildfire by creating defensible space.
• Set: Monitoring fire conditions and creating an evacuation checklist.
• Go: Understanding evacuation alerts and knowing when and how to leave safely.
• Hands-on fire mitigation exercises: vegetation management, use of firebreaks, etc.
• Developing a home fire escape plan and fire drills.
• Understanding the role of smoke and CO alarms.
